(Burniston & Cloughton Village Hall - 25-27 October 2012)

The Sublime to The Ridiculous is the collective name for a pair of plays, "The Middle of the House" and "A Bit of Each", both from the prodigious pen of Scarborough playwright Sue Wilding. Sue also directs both performances.
The Middle of the House is a serious drama charting 24 hours in the life of a couple whose 3-year-old son has gone missing. This play explores the whole gamut of human emotions from disbelief and denial, to optimism, and of course, finger-pointing recriminations. A riveting dramatisation of what goes on behind the closed doors of a family in grief-stricken limbo.
A Bit of Each. 'The Free Players' is an enthusiastic amateur drama group, the dreamchild of its pompous director Henry, who himself has been treading the boards for well over 40 years. Deep down Henry knows that The Free Players are much more professional and polished than other local drama groups, and he intends to prove that with tonight's presentation. What could possibly go wrong? Over the years, Sue Wilding has both seen and even made one or two hilarious bloopers in amateur drama, and tonight, you'll see most them again, skilfully written into this uproarious comedy. By popular demand 'A Bit of Each' returns for its third rib-tickling season.
See both plays for £5. Tickets on the door.
