(Burniston & Cloughton Village Hall - 27-29 June 2013)
"The Middle of the House" was performed 25th - 27th October 2012 at Burniston Village Hall, as part of a programme of 2 plays, collectively titled "The Sublime to the Ridiculous". The other play in the programme was "A Bit of Each"
The Middle of the House is a serious drama charting 24 hours in the life of a couple whose 3-year-old son has gone missing. This play explores the whole gamut of human emotions from disbelief and denial, to optimism, and of course, finger-pointing recriminations. A riveting dramatisation of what goes on behind the closed doors of a family in grief-stricken limbo.

David Irwin is no stranger to amateur drama. When he joined Cresta ADS in 1995, he already had many years of stage experience, both in Scarborough and his native York.
He has won many awards at drama festivals around the North East, including Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor on numerous occasions.
In "The Middle of the House" David plays the father of a missing 3-year-old boy. His real-life son is now 18 and thankfully David has never had to deal with the trauma that faces his character in this play, but he portrays the part with such intense emotion that you will find yourself believing every moment of his performance.

Rae Yaldren has long been best known as a talented singer, songwriter and musician, but more recently she has taken to the stage and has already performed in several musicals and plays, winning Best Actress at the Sedgefield Drama Festival.
In this harrowing tale, Rae plays the mother of the missing boy, and performs the part with such conviction, such anger, pathos and guilt that you will be riveted to your seat.
